John Barr Scotch Whisky, muddled sugar & Angostura bitters, fresh orange slice
Tracing its lineage back to Prohibition when times were rough and bootlegged whiskey was even rougher. The muddled cherry and orange slices were no doubt a necessary response to the inferior liquor. With Repeal, the Old Fashioned sported a new look and loads of fresh fruit character. Along the way, the water in the original recipe was replaced with a splash of seltzer — charged water — and the Old Fashioned was on its way.

Classic Dirty Martini
Tito's vodka, Martini & Rossi dry vermouth, bleu cheese olives
A product of the Yalta conference, the Dirty Martini was slightly overshadowed by other world changing moments. The drink came about one morning when FDR commented to Stalin that he was feeling a little hung-over. Joseph, being the caring and compassionate man he was, suggested his favorite morning cure-all of vodka and pickle juice. Regrettably, neither pickles nor vodka had been served with breakfast that morning. Fortunately, Churchill, being a man of the sauce, reached into his valise and produced a bottle of gin and a jar of olives. Dumping the coffee out the window and using the silver coffee pot as a makeshift shaker he quickly fashioned a batch of cocktails, tinted slightly dark (or dirty) by the remaining coffee. The three of them unanimously proclaimed the recipe a victory and the rest is history.

Where the Gallagher’s tradition began! The original “Manhattan cocktail” was a mix of “American Whiskey, Italian Vermouth and Angostura bitters.” During Prohibition (1920–1933), Canadian whisky was primarily used because it was the only whisky available.

Take the escalator to Casino Floor, head right towards the front desk. Walk passed the front desk towards the Century Elevators. Keep walking straight passing Il Fornaio. Around the corner from Il Fornaio next to Chin Chin will be Gallagher’s Steakhouse.
North Garage
Take the parking garage hallway towards the Big Apple Coaster and Arcade. Pass Nathans on your left and take the escalator on the left down to the Casino Level, then take the tile walking path to the left. Keep walking straight passing Il Fornaio. Around the corner from Il Fornaio next to Chin Chin will be Gallagher’s Steakhouse.
