Things You Should Know

When does the Las Vegas Strip close on New Year's Eve?

  • Las Vegas Boulevard (The Strip) will start closing at 7:15 PM hours with a hard closure at 10:00 PM.
  • The pedestrian bridge from New York-New York to MGM Grand will close as it has every year in the past. The pedestrian bridge to Excalibur will remain open.
  • Tropicana Avenue will be open in both directions (East & West) on New Years Eve.

Can I drink on the Strip during New Year's Eve?

  • You can drink on the Strip, but plan according to the restrictions listed below.
  • From 6:00 PM Dec 31, until 6:00 AM Jan 1, glass containers are banned while on The Strip, south of Sahara and north of Sunset Avenues, or on the sidewalks bordering that portion of Las Vegas Boulevard.
  • From 6:00 AM Dec 31, until 6:00 AM Jan 1, the sale of package liquor, beer, wine, and Champagne in glass containers will be prohibited.

Will there be Rideshare Services during the Strip Closure?

  • Uber and other rideshare services will be operating during the New Year’s Eve closure road closures utilizing Tropicana Ave and Frank Sinatra Dr.
  • Located at 1st floor of the Self-Parking Garage.

Can I have guests in my hotel room?

  • The Front Desk must be aware of all guests staying in your room or suite to have access to the property.

Will I need a Room key to access the property?

  • Resort access may be limited to hotel guests throughout the day. Showing your room key may be required for access. Please have your room key with you at all times.

Can I carry a cooler or backpack with me on the strip during New Year's Eve?

  • Backpacks, coolers, glass bottles, personal mobility devices, and strollers are prohibited on Las Vegas Boulevard between the hours of 6:00 PM December 31, and 6:00 AM January 1. Bags cannot be larger than 12’’ x 6’’ x 12’’ (exclusive of handles).

Will there be Parking open?

  • Self-Park Garages are expected to be full by 5:00 PM.
  • Allow extra time for traffic.
  • The Las Vegas Monorail will be the only public transportation operating on The Strip.
